Turkish artillery targets Christian villages in NE Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press)- On Tuesday, Syrian Military Council, affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told North Press that Turkish forces fired two shells towards the two Christian predominant villages of Shalhoumia and Rotan in the countryside of Tirbe Spiye in eastern countryside of the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria. 

An eyewitness said two shells also fell on the outskirts of the village of Tal Ziwan east of Qamishli.

No information was available on the damages caused by the shelling.

This was followed by Turkish escalation on frontlines in northeast Syria, causing human casualties including children.

On Tuesday morning, Turkish forces targeted, with artillery shells, several neighborhoods in the city of Kobani and its countryside, in addition to villages held by the Syrian government forces in the countryside of Tel Tamr and others in the northern countryside of Aleppo Governorate.

A 14-year-old child lost his life, two-year-old child was injured in the head and two other civilians were injured, medical sources revealed the primary outcome of the Turkish shelling.
