Local sources told North Press that two Turkish military convoys, which included more than 70 vehicles loaded with cement blocks and military and logistic equipment accompanied by armored vehicles and tanks, entered into Syrian territory through Bab al-Hawa border crossing.

The vehicles headed towards Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain south of Idlib, according to the sources

There are about 13.000 Turkish soldiers, as well as 9.000 Turkish military vehicles in northwestern Syria, according to reports.

The Turkish forces continue to send more military reinforcements to Idlib, coinciding with military escalation and mutual shelling between the Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), and the Syrian government forces.

Since its military intervention in Syria, the Turkish forces have established more than 60 military posts in the areas of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, northwest Syria.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called, on August 11, for reconciliation between the opposition and the government.

In response to the Turkish minister’s call, cities and towns run by Turkish-backed SNA in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib witnessed mass protests, denouncing any attempts to normalize relations with the government.
