Turkey claims responsibility for targeting Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Intelligence Service of Turkey claimed on Friday responsibility for targeting the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, that caused casualties.
On August 6, Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) said that “A Turkish drone targeted a car in al-Sinaa neighborhood (industrial zone), east of Qamishli.”
The Asayish pointed out that “The targeting led to four casualties, including the two children, Ahmad Shibi, 14, and Aheng Shibi, 16.”
Turkish newspaper, Yeni Şafak, said that the operation was carried out against a Kurdish leader.
On August 10, the Interior Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) revealed that Youssef Muhammad al-Rabbani, a leader of Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) operating in Iran, lost his life due to the abovementioned targeting.
Al-Rabbani used to try to bring the views of the Kurdish people closer, and to meet with residents of the region, the Interior Board added.
