Qamishli, Syria (North Press) – US President Joe Biden urged on Wednesday the Syrian government to help return disappearing journalist in Syria ten years ago.
The journalist Austin Tice went missing close to Damascus on August 14, 2012. He was working as a freelance photographer for foreign agencies.
Biden noted that his administration repeatedly asked the government of Syria to work with Washington to help bring Tice home.
Biden’s call coincides with the annual anniversary of the disappearance of Tice calling on Damascus to end this and help us bring him home.
While no party claimed responsibility for his abduction, Washington believes Tice is held by the Syrian authorities.
Since last year, families of illegally held American hostages (detained or missing) in Syria and elsewhere called on the US administration to work for the release of their beloved ones.
In 2018, Washington announced a million USDs reward for any information that leads to the release of Tice.
