HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Armey (SNA) bombed on Monday the town of Abu Rasin (Zirgan) north of Hasakah, northeast Syria which caused communication network interruption.
Turkish artillery bombed the western neighborhood of the town with three shells, hitting the communications tower, and causing material damage to it and to the nearly empty houses of the residents, an eyewitness told North Press.
The attack forced the rest of the resident to flee to the nearby empty lands.
During the bombing, the remaining residents of the town fled towards the empty lands to the east, the eyewitness added.
In a related context, the Turkish forces bombed the villages of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah, early this morning, which caused the displacement of a number of its residents.
Turkey has escalated its attacks on areas in north and northeast Syria, using artillery and drones following Tehran Summit, in which Turkey failed to obtain a green light by Iran and Russia to launch its military operation in north Syria.
On August 6, a Turkish drone hit al-Sinaa neighborhood (industrial zone) in Qamishli which killed four people and wounded two others.
Since May 23 Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced plans to carry out a major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. He specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
