QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Four people were injured and one died on Saturday in an initial toll for a mysterious explosion that took place in al-Sinaa neighborhood in Qamishli city, northeastern Syria.
Eyewitnesses told North Press that one person immediately lost his life, and four others were injured in the explosion.
They added that Ali Shibi, 40, and Masoud Shaibi, 18, were taken to the city’s hospitals.
Families of those wounded told North Press that Ahmad al-Ali, 14, died before arriving at the hospital.
The blast completely destroyed two cars, and damaged shops in the vicinity.
The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) published a statement on their official website saying that they launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and to estimate the toll of casualties and material damage.
