Covid-19 hospital in Syria’s Qamishli announces state of alert
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An official at Covid-19 (Jiyan) hospital in the city of Qamishli in northeastern Syria, Hoshmin Aqil, said on Saturday that they announced the state of alert due to the increasing numbers of coronavirus infections.
Aqil added that they provide all medical services to the infected saying, “We are in a state of alert 24 hours a day, and the ambulances, medical staff and medical equipment are ready.”
On Saturday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) recorded 59 new infections of coronavirus in northeastern Syria.
Aqil called on all people in northeastern Syria to abide by the preventative measures including wearing face masks, taking care of hygiene, and taking into account social distancing system.
The total number of the coronavirus infections in the AANES-held areas reached 38.796 cases.
The official pointed out that some equipment in the hospital need maintenance urgently.
He expected that there will be an increase in the number of the infections during the coming period due to lack of compliance.
