Group of SNA faction defects after delaying their salaries

AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – A group of Levant Front, the most prominent faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), defected on Sunday in the town of Marea, northwestern Syria, after putting off their monthly salaries.

An informed source told North Press that a group of 250 militants of the Levant Front defected with their light weapons and joined the Mu’tasim Division, another SNA faction.

The Turkish-backed SNA is consisted of dozens of armed factions which witness split and infighting due to chaos and instability situations they are subjected to and due to the failure of the Turkish army to control them inside the Syrian territories it occupies.

The reason behind the split was the faction’s failure to hand them their salaries for more than 50 days, the source added.
