Female child killed, another wounded in blast in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – A female child lost her life and another got wounded, on Saturday, in an explosion of war remnants in Jisr al-Shughur countryside, west of Idlib Governorate in northwestern Syria.
A local source told North Press that the 7-year-old Dumou’ Ghassan al-Rouji, lost her life in a cluster bomb explosion of a previous government forces’ airstrike on al-Ghassaniyah town in Jisr al-Shughur countryside west of Idlib.
The source added that the 7-year-old Ali Bassam al-Rouji was sustained wounds of varying degrees of severity from the same explosion, and he was transported to a nearby hospital.
Thousands of live ammunitions are scattered in the countryside of Idlib as a result of military operations, most notably cluster bombs, mines, ammunitions and unexploded rockets. These have become a major threat to the lives of the residents of the densely populated places.
