IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces began on Saturday establishing a new military post in Zawiya Mountain region, south of Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
The region continue to witness mutual shelling between Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA).
A Military source of the opposition told North Press, “On Saturday’s morning, the Turkish forces began establishing a new military post in the area between the village of San and the neighboring town of Dadikh, which is under the control of government forces.”
The Turkish forces constructed earthen berms in the vicinity of the new post and deployed dozens of Turkish soldiers in the area, the source added.
