Government, Turkish-backed SNA exchange shelling east of Aleppo

IDLIB, Syria ( North Press) – On Saturday, contact lines in Tadif in the eastern countryside of Aleppo Governorate witnessed fierce clashes erupted between Turkish-backed armed Syrian opposition factions and Syrian government forces.

Russian warplanes were flying over the region at low altitude, coinciding with the clashes that lasted for hours.

A military source told North Press that intermittent clashes have erupted between the government forces and the Turkish-backed factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), since early hours on Saturday, using machineguns and light weapons.

Tadif usually witnesses intermittent clashes between the two parties as both control different parts in the town.

On July 28, fierce clashes took place between Turkish-backed SNA factions and the government forces in Tadif, using light and medium weapons.

The source further added that several shells fell near produce market in the city of al-Bab east of Aleppo, reporting no human casualties, according to the source.

The Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions have been running al-Bab city since 2017.

The SNA-held areas undergo security chaos, including explosions, persistent fighting between the factions and assassinations in light of the factions’ failure to maintain security there.
