SDF calls on partners to stop Turkish violations

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander in Chief, Mazloum Abdi, called on SDF partners to stop the Turkish attacks.

This came in a tweet by Abdi following a Turkish drone attack on July 22 that targeted a car with three SDF female fighters, including a commander, on the road in the eastern countryside of Qamishli which claimed the lives of all of them

“Partners must make greater efforts to stop violations. We will avenge,” Abdi tweeted.

“Joint Operations Commander with coalition, Jiyan Afrin with our comrades Roj and Barin, heroines took part in war against ISIS and rescued humanity,” he added.

“Turkey’s targeting them undermines war against ISIS,” the tweet said.

Earlier on Sunday, the Central Command of the US military extended its condolences to the SDF, for Turkish targeting of three female commanders in the city of Qamishli.

“CENTCOM extends our condolences to the families of these 3 SDF fighters, the people in Northeast Syria & our SDF partners,”  the US Central Command said in a tweet.

The General Command of the SDF announced Saturday that the drone attack which targeted a car in the city of Qamishli claimed the lives of three SDF fighters.

Following Tehran’s summit on July 19, Turkey has been using drones extensively in north and east Syria, targeting civilians and military vehicles, and sometimes vital facilities and empty farmlands.

The attacks come in tandem with repeated threats by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to launch a military operation in northern Syria against the cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
