Turkish forces target Iranian military base in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and its affiliated Syrian opposition factions, known as Syrian National Army (SNA), targeted on Tuesday with two rockets an Iranian military base in the northern countryside of Aleppo Governorate, north Syria.

The targeted Iranian base is located between the village of Ibbin and the town of Deir Jamal in the north of Aleppo. However, no casualties were reported.

A military source told North Press that “The Turkish forces targeted a vehicle that was constructing earthen berms around the Iranian base in the area, resulting in its destruction,” without mentioning whether it caused human losses or not.

On Tuesday morning, a Turkish drone struck a military post of the Syrian government forces in the town of Tel Rifaat, injuring a lieutenant and a soldier.

The Iranian base was established in the village of Ibbin nearly a week ago. Its forces brought in tanks and a number of militants, and set up earthen berms, in addition to raising three Iranian flags over that base.

Several villages in Aleppo northern countryside are being targeted almost daily by the Turkish forces and the SNA factions, in light of Turkish threats to launch a new cross-border military operation against the two Syrian cities of Tel Rifaat and Manbij.
