4 ex-opposition militants killed in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Four former militants of Syrian opposition armed factions were shot dead on Monday by a former leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
A Local source told North Press that “Ahmad al-Hayek, Khedr al-Hayek, Muhammad Hussein al-Rawashdah, and a fourth named Abu Muthanna were shot and killed by a former leader of the HTS, after he invited them to his house on the road between the towns of Tafas and al-Yadudah, west of Daraa.”
“The leader who killed them is called Abu Obeida. He hails from the city of al-Sheikh Maskin in the countryside of Daraa, but he has lived for years near the town of al-Yadudah,” the source added.
“The four young men hailed from the town of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa and were former members of the opposition factions,” the source said.
Since the government forces re-captured Daraa in 2018, the governorate has been living in a state of security chaos, as it witnesses murders and thefts on a daily basis, despite the government’s intensive presence in its towns and villages.
