US convoy enters Syria’s Hasakah
SHADDADI, Syria (North Press) – A US convoy consisting of dozens of trucks arrived in Shaddadi Military Base, south of Hasakah Governorate in northeastern Syria.
The convoy’s arrival comes after US President Joe Biden assured Arab leaders in a summit on Saturday that the US would remain fully engaged in the Middle East.
“Let me state clearly that the United States is going to remain an active and engaged partner in the Middle East,” Biden said.
“As the world grows more competitive, and the challenges we face more complex, it is only becoming clearer to me how closely interwoven our interests are with the successes of the Middle East,” he added.
A local source told North Press that 50 trucks entered the base; some of them were enclosed while others were open and carried logistical equipment and military vehicles.
From time to time, convoys loaded with military equipment and logistical materials enter Shaddadi town, coming from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).
