Turkish forces shell northern countryside of Syria’s Hasakah

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled on Saturday evening a village in the countryside of Tel Tamr town, north of Hasakah Governorate in northeast Syria.

A source in Tel Tamr Military Council, a military formation affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told North Press that the Turkish forces targeted, with heavy shelling, the village of Kozaliya, west of Tel Tamr. .

No further information was received regarding the shelling, the source added.

Tel Tamr, which has a population of about 25,000 and is 30 km away from the Syrian-Turkish border, is of strategic importance as it is a junction on the M4 Highway linking the Jazira region in northeast Syria to Aleppo Governorate in northwest.

In addition to the Tel Tamr Military Council and the Syrian government-backed posts, there are Turkish, Russian and American forces in the vicinity of the town.
