Islamic courses continue in Hawl Camp in NE Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Women of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in Hawl Camp east of Hasakah, northeast Syria, completed a Sharia (Islamic) course that was addressed to children under 16 years old.

A filmed video obtained by North Press Agency showed ceremonies of concluding the Islamic course that was held in a sector designated for foreigner ISIS women in the camp.

Hawl Camp, 45 km east of the city of Hasakah, is a house for 55.829 individuals, including 28.725 Iraqis, 18.850 Syrians and 8.254 of foreign nationalities, according to the latest statistics obtained by North Press.

The video, which was filmed inside a tent, showed walls with ISIS banners hanged on, and an ISIS women talking in Russian, addressing her words to a group of children.

A security source in the camp told North Press that security authorities arrested the women and questioned her.

The women, who admitted that she is Russian, stressed that the filmed footage was for concluding ceremonies of the Islamic course that targeted children between ten and 16 years old.

Children in the camp are subjected to Sharia courses, ideological training and methods of killing to participate in the operations carried out inside the camp, according to the security source.

On May 8, North Press obtained, from a security source, a video clip showing a child from the ‘Cubs of the Caliphate’ leading a group of wives of ISIS members in a prayer in the camp.

The child, who seemed like he was no more than nine, was a national of a foreign country. He prayed as an imam for a congregational Eid al-Fitr prayer held in the camp.

In early March, Save The Children warned that it would take 30 years for the children stuck in unsafe camps in northeastern Syria to return home if repatriations continue at the current rate.
