ISIS child destroys solar panel in Hawl Camp in NE Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – One of the children, or the so-called cubs of the caliphate, said on Wednesday, east of Hasakah, northern and eastern Syria, destroyed one of the solar panels in Hawl Camp, in a continuation of the acts of sabotage that the camp witnesses.

In a video obtained by North Press, a child from the camp appears on top of a solar energy pole, sabotaging and smashing the power panel.

Earlier, employees of a company installing lighting poles were directly threatened by ISIS cells. Their papers and mobile phones were looted, according to what was reported by Hawar Agency at the time.

On July 5, the Norwegian Refugee Council evacuated its centers in Hawl Camp of logistical equipment and continued to suspend its work in the camp, except for the migrant women’s section.

This comes, after it was attacked, robbed and its contents were destroyed, on the second of this month for the fifth time between 2021 and 2022, by a number of the camp residents of ISIS families.

Not long ago, a security source in Hawl Camp told North Press said that ISIS cells are working to train and recruit children in the camp to use them in killing, slaughter and kidnapping operation.

The source, who preferred not to be named, said that the so-called cubs of the caliphate participated in many killing operations carried out by ISIS cells in the camp during the recent period.

Hawl Camp, 45 km east of the city of Hasakah, is a house for 55.829 individuals, including 28.725 Iraqis, 18.850 Syrians and 8.254 of foreign nationalities, according to the latest statistics obtained by North Press.

The camp witnesses murders with different methods, most notably firearms. The management of the camp fears that the latest Turkish threats of invading areas in northern Syria would pave the way for the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) to reorganize its ranks, North Press cited a statement by the management as saying.

Since the start of Turkish threats, with a new military operation in northern Syria, and the escalation of these threats every period, ISIS cells have been highly active, especially in Hawl Camp

On June 1, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to launch a military operation in northern Syria.
