ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday night, Turkish military convoys entered to areas held by Turkish-backed armed opposition factions in Syria through Bab al-Salama and al-Rai crossings north of Aleppo.
A source told North Press that the entry of the convoys, which loaded heavy weapons, tanks and armored vehicles, come in tandem with increasing Turkish threats about an approaching potential military operation in areas north Syria.
The entry of the military convoys coincided with intensive flight by Turkish drones over the region, according to the source.
On Tuesday, one of the Turkish-backed factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), sent military reinforcements to a village in the countryside of the city of Azaz northeast the town of Tel Rifaat.
Sources told North Press then that the Turkish-backed Sultan Murad faction sent reinforcements to Hawar Kilis region on Syrian-Turkish border, north of Azaz on Tuesday.
In early July, the SNA factions sent massive reinforcements to contact lines with the Syrian government forces in Tel Rifaat north of Aleppo.
Meanwhile, the government forces and Iranian-backed militias sent reinforcements to Tel Rifaat and its outskirts and they also fortified berms in the area.
