Northwest Syria witnesses intensive shelling between forces of government and opposition
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The de-escalation in northwest Syria continued to witness on Monday mutual shelling and military escalation between the government forces and Turkish-backed opposition SNA factions.
“The government forces targeted the SNA posts in the vicinity of the villages and towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhn, Kansafra, Benin and al-Ruwaiha in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, with tens of artillery and missile shells,” military sources in the opposition told North Press.
“The government shelling also struck the town of Ma’arat al-Na’san, east of Idlib, killing one person and injuring another one,” the sources added.
The opposition factions’ posts in the vicinity of the villages and towns of Kafr Noran, Taqad, Sheikh Suleiman, Kafr Ta’al and Ajel in the western countryside of Aleppo were also bombed by the government forces, according to the same sources.
Meanwhile, al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room targeted the government forces’ posts in the towns of Miznaz, Urm al-Kubra and Khirbet Jadaria, west of Aleppo, with heavy artillery and rockets, military sources in the National Liberation Front told North Press.
According to the sources, the SNA targeted a military vehicle of the government forces near Anjara, west of Aleppo, with a guided missile.
Areas in the de-escalation zone in the northwest of Syria continue to witness daily exchange of bombardment between the Turkish-backed opposition factions and the government forces.
