Turkish suicide drone targets house in Syria’s Raqqa northern countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Thursday that a Turkish booby-trapped drone targeted an inhabited house in a village in the countryside of Ain Issa town in northern Syria, causing a strong explosion.
A booby-trapped drone targeted an inhabited house in the village of al-Safawiyeh in the countryside of Ain Issa town, the SDF said on its official website.
The explosion caused a state of panic among the residents, without causing material damage or casualties.
Following threats to launch a new military operation in northern Syria, Turkey has escalated its bombing operations targeting residential areas in northeast Syria, causing civilian casualties, according to SDF.
On June 1, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan renewed his threats of launching a military operation on northern Syria, and specified his targets in the two Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
