Turkish border guards brutally beat three Syrians tried to cross border

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Three young men from northeastern Syria were subjected Wednesday night to severe beating at the hands of Turkish border guards while trying to cross Syrian-Turkish border.

The wounded, who are from the town of Amuda, north of Hasakah, are Dildar Majid Suleiman, 16, Dilyar Majid Suleiman, 15, and Malik Ahmad Radwan, 14, according to a medical source from the Amuda Hospital.

The youngest of them has a broken nose, in addition to wounds and scratches on his body as a result of the beating; the second has a broken leg and his condition is unstable, while the oldest is suffering from several wounds, the source told North Press.

Tawfiq Suleiman, cousin of Dildar and Dilyar Suleiman, told North Press that the cousins “left at 10:30 pm from Amuda towards the border, and when the Turkish border guards saw them, they started shooting in the air.”

After they were caught, the guards “forced them to take off their clothes, and then they started brutally beating them. After that, they threw them near the Syrian border,” he added.
