Two people killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown individuals killed two people in two separate incidents, on Saturday, in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

Local sources told North Press that Ammar Ali al-Manajira was shot dead by unknown individuals in the town of Tel Shehab, in the western countryside of Daraa.

Al-Manajira was targeted in front of his house, as he was seriously injured, then he was transferred to the National Hospital in the town of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa, where he died, the source added.  

Al-Manajira had never joined any military or security formations, according to the same source.

Local sources told North Press that residents of the village of Nassib in the eastern countryside of Daraa, found the body of the young man Saqr Mustafa al-Khatem in the village’s plains.

Al-Khatem is from Nassib, and his body was transferred to the National Hospital in the city of Daraa with signs of severe torture and wounds on the front of the neck.  

On Saturday, a warrant officer, affiliated with the Military Security branch of the Syrian government forces, was shot dead by unidentified attackers in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

In September 2021, dignitaries of Daraa governorate and Syrian government reached a ceasefire agreement under Russia’s mediation which included handing over weapons of the local factions, and deploying government’s security posts in the towns of the governorate.

Daraa governorate continues to witness ongoing killing operations without knowing the party behind them, as no party has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
