Attackers shoot dead government soldier in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a security member with the rank of warrant officer affiliated with the Military Security branch of the Syrian government forces was shot dead by unidentified attackers in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

The warrant officer Ali Khallof was shot dead on a route links between the village of Sahem al-Golan and the town of Tasil in the western countryside of Daraa, according to a military source.

Khallof, who hails from the city of Talkalakh in Homs governorate, was responsible for studies in the Military Security Detachment in the town of al-Shajara west of Daraa, the military source told North Press.

In September 2021, dignitaries of Daraa governorate and Syrian government reached a ceasefire agreement under Russia’s mediation which included handing over weapons of the local factions, and deploying government’s security posts in the towns of the governorate.

Daraa governorate continues to witness ongoing killing operations without knowing the party behind them, as no party has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
