With SDF help, residents in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor thwart ISIS attack

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Residents of two towns in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside with help of and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed on Tuesday to thwart an attack by ISIS cells on the two towns

 “Civilians from the cities of Jadeed Akidat and Jadid Bakara. aided in thwarting an attempted attack on the their homeland by ISIS cells,” a military source from the Global Coalition told North Press.

As ISIS members advanced, the locals quickly set up roadblocks and obstacles to slow their the advance,” the source added.

“The SDF and Deir ez-Zor Military Council members arrived and valiantly fought them off with the continued support from the civilians,” according to the source.

The people of Deir ez-Zor continue to show their outward dissatisfaction with the dissatisfaction with the attempts to destabilize the region, the source said.

The SDF, Deir ez-Zor Military Council, and the Asayish all continue to work diligently to provide stability and security for people of Syria in the face of ISIS cells.
