Three gunmen killed in clashes with members of SNA in Afrin, north Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Three gunmen were killed on Tuesday evening in clashes with Turkish-backed Sultan Suleiman Shah Division (al-Amshat) in the village of al-Faririah in the countryside of Afrin, north of Aleppo.

“There was a dispute over a piece of land owned by a displaced family from the village of al-Farirah. The dispute developed into clashes with light weapons that led to the killing of three armed men residing in the village,” a private source told North Press.

“The clashes lasted for more than an hour, amid a military alert and bringing in reinforcements by the Turkish-backed Hamzah Division to resolve the dispute between the two parties,” the source added.

Turkey has occupied the city of Afrin and its countryside since March 2018, following a military invasion by the Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions called “Olive Branch”. Since then, the region has gone through killing incidents, trees’ cutting and arrests.

These areas also continue to witness a state of insecurity accompanied by explosions and infighting between the SNA factions over property of the indigenous people, amid the factions’ inability to maintain the security.
