Future Syria Party called on protests worldwide against Turkish threats to NE Syria

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Future Syria Party called on Sunday to organize protests in front of embassies and consulates worldwide and to increase the popular protests inside Syria to condemn the Turkish violations in all regions of northeast Syria.

This came during a seminar organized by the Future Syria Party, in the town of Fafin in northern Aleppo governorate, under the slogan “No to separation, no to settlement.”

The seminar was held to discuss the recent Turkish threats to launch a new military operation on Syrian territory, especially Manbij and Tel Rifaat, in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The head of the Future Syria Party’s Relations Office, Ali Salameh, told North Press that collective awareness at this stage is necessary to deter the Turkish plans in Syria.

Lawyer Gabriel Mustafa told North Press that the Syrian government should move seriously towards the Turkish occupation, through the United Nations, as it has the legitimacy.

“The crimes committed by Turkey can only be ended by a UN decision, through the Security Council. Turkey must be held responsible for the destruction it caused to the infrastructure in Syria, and for other crimes,” Mustafa said.

The seminar dealt in its first axis with “Turkish politics throughout history.”  The massacres committed by the Turkish state against Alawites, Christians, Kurds, Armenians, and Assyrians in Syria, were discussed.

Sheikh Ali Bu Khamisi, one of Afrin’s prominent figures, told North Press that what Turkey is doing under the pretext of the safe zone is media misinformation.

“As long as Turkey stays away from us, we are safe. If we, as Syrians, are together, we will stand against these threats,” he added.

The second axis dealt with “Settlement and Demographic Change.” Several topics were discussed related to the Turkish plan to build settlements in the areas it controls, and thus remove the indigenous population from their homes.

On January 16, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said” We have started to work on settlement construction between Syria’s Ras al Ayn and Tal Abyad, where we can settle hundreds of thousands of people, while other places along Turkey-Syria border can house a million people.”

The human rights activist Alaa el-Din Khalid told North Press that “Turkey wants to restore the Ottoman glories by implementing the Misak-ı Millî, and this goal is an expansionist colonialist.”

Khalid believed that “the recent Turkish threats are nothing but a blackmail of countries. However, due to the local, regional and international conditions, Turkey will not get anything.”

The party ended its seminar with a set of recommendations related to the rejection of the safe zone, the demand for the release of all the kidnapped in the centers of the Turkish state. It also demanded the guarantor countries to show transparency in their decisions. It also called to activate the popular protests against Turkish threats to northeast Syria.
