SDF denies news about targeting its forces by Turkey in Syria’s Kobani
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The media center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Sunday that the reports of Turkish bombing of our forces in Kobani are false.
“The news circulated by pages and websites belonging to the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation about a Turkish drone bombed a location of our forces in Kobani is baseless,” the center said.
“This false news comes in the context of the mercenaries’ media rush to implement the agendas of the Turkish occupation,” it added.
Officials of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), held on Saturday a tripartite meeting in Hasakah, northeast Syria.
The meeting discussed the attitudes of the guarantor countries of the ceasefire agreement and to set an action plan to deal with the latest military developments.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on May 23 that Turkey would soon launch a new military operation into northern Syria to create a 30-kilometer (19-mile) “security zone” along the border.
Recently, Turkish forces and their affiliated opposition SNA factions have escalated bombing the areas of north and northeast Syria.
