Civilian injured by shrapnel in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – A person was wounded on Sunday by shrapnel from an unknown source, west of the city of Kobani, northern Syria.
“My son, Mahmoud Abdo, 19, was wounded by two shrapnel while helping me transport building stones between the villages of Kolmed and Manaz, west of Kobani,” the father of the injured young man told North Press.
“I heard a strong sound, whose source I did not know. Then I saw my son fell injured to the ground,” he added.
The father of the young man suggested that the cause of the injury was the targeting of a Turkish drone.
The young man was transported to Kobani Hospital, where he underwent a surgery. He is in stable condition now, according to his father.
It is noteworthy that Turkey has stepped up targeting the city of Kobani and its countryside with drones.
In early June, the bombardment of the Turkish forces and their affiliated opposition factions (SNA) on the village of Shisha, southeast of Kobani, injured a woman and a child.
