Blast kills one government forces’ member, injures another in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Syrian government forces was killed and another was wounded on Thursday in a blast against their vehicle in the town of Tel Shihab in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

“The targeted vehicle was carrying members of the government forces at the junction of the village of Zayzoun in the town of Tel Shihab,” local sources told North Press.

“One member was killed and another one was wounded. They were transported to Daraa National Hospital for treatment,” the sources added.

On Tuesday, Ma’an Younis al-Bardan, the commander of one of the military groups of the Fourth Division in the government forces, was killed by unidentified gunmen in the city of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa.

It’s worth noting that violence appears to have increased since the latest Russia-mediated reconciliation deal.

On September 2021, dignitaries of Daraa governorate and Syrian government reached a ceasefire agreement under Russia’s mediation which included handing over weapons of the local factions, and deploying government’s security posts in the towns of the governorate.
