603 Iraqi families leave Hawl Camp in Syria’s Hasakah
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced on Tuesday, that the process of recovering Iraqi families in Hawl Camp, northeast Syria, is continuing.
The number of Iraqi families that recently left the camp in has reached 603.
“The ministry does not have accurate numbers for the number of those in Hawl Camp because it is outside the control of the Iraqi state,” the Iraqi News Agency cited Ali Abbas, Director General of Branches in the Ministry of Immigration, said,

Abbas added that 450 Iraqi families left the camp after passing through the security check, and now 153 families were transferred.
He reiterated his country’s readiness to get back the rest of the families wishing to leave the camp, adding that the return process continues according to the schedule set by the higher security services.
The Iraqi official said that about 200 families were returned to their original areas after efforts to reintegrate them into society.
The Hawl Camp, about 40 kilometers east of Hasakah, is a house for 56.775 individuals, most of them are Iraqis. It also contains thousands of internally displaced Syrians.
