Turkish forces bomb several villages in Syria’s Manbij countryside

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces bombed on Monday evening several villages near the frontlines in the northern and western countryside of Manbij, north of Aleppo.

“The Turkish shelling struck the village of al-Jat, north of Manbij, and the villages of al-Boughaz, al-Kawkli, Korhyuk, Mazraat al-Fawaris, and Jabal al-Hamra, west of the city of Manbij,” a military source told North press.

The number of mortar shells reached 27, and the shelling is still ongoing, according to the source.

Recently, Turkey and its backed opposition factions have escalated shelling of villages in the countryside of Manbij.

The SDF liberated Manbij from ISIS rule in 2016, and the city is now under the control of the SDF-aligned Manbij Military Council. Remarkably, the MMC.

The Turkish forces bombed on Sunday with mortar shells al-Arima district, Mazraat al-Fawaris, and the villages of Qart, Yaran and al-Kawkli, west of Manbij.
