Turkish forces pound villages in north of Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) –Turkish forces targeted on Thursday several villages in the towns of Zarkan (Abu Rasin) and Tel Tamr in north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, wounding a child wounded.
The targeted villages in Tel Tamr are Tel Jum’a, Tel Shnan, Ghibesh, Dardara, Mahatat al-Abqar, al-Abosh and Tawila, in addition to targeting the vicinity of a Russian base, a local source told North Press.
No human losses were recorded in the aforementioned villages, but the extant of the material losses have not been identified yet due to the intermittent shelling.
In Abu Rasin, the pounded villages are Dada Abdel, Nuwaihat, al-Boubi, al-Khedrawai and Umm Harmala, in addition to several farms.
As a result of the Turkish shelling, a child from Umm Harmala in Abu Rasin was injured.
The wounded child was transferred to the Martyar Khabat Hospital in Derbasiya and he was then transferred to hospitals in Hasakah, a medical source in the hospital told North Press.
After the bombardment stopped, Turkish drones and a helicopter were hovering over the town, a military source told North Press.
Turkish forces are continuing to escalate shelling of several areas in northeastern Syria after the announcement of the Turkish President of a new military operation against the region.
On Wednesday, Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian opposition factions (also known as the Syrian National Army, SNA) targeted the village of Shisha in southeast of Kobani, north Syria, injuring a woman and a child.
