SDF downs Turkish drone north of Syria’s Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Monday shooting down a Turkish drone in the town of Ain Issa, north of Syria’s Raqqa governorate.  

The SDF official website announced that its forces had downed a Turkish drone in Ain Issa on Sunday at about 11:00 am. 

The SDF website publicized a video showing the wreckage of the downed drone.

On April 27, forces of Manbij Military Council, which is affiliated with the SDF, announced the shooting down of a Turkish drone hovering over the frontlines west of the city of Manbij.

Areas in north and northeast Syria have been recently undergoing successive Turkish drone attacks targeting civilians and military positions.

On May 18, four children and their mother were wounded due to Turkish shelling of Ain Issa. The oldest son was partially paralyzed.  

On April 4, three members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) were wounded in a Turkish drone attack against their center in the town of Abu Rasin north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
