Despite ceasefire agreement, Turkey bombs Syria’s Hasakah countryside

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces shelled on Saturday the predominantly Assyrian village  of Tel Tawil in the countryside of the town of Tel Tamr, north Hasakah, northeast Syria.

The village was hit with several shells. The shelling caused material damage to the residents’ property, a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press.

However, North Press has not obtained further information about the size of damage yet.

Although it is included in the ceasefire agreement signed by Ankara with Washington and Moscow in October 2019, the countryside of Tel Tamr has been bombed by Turkish forces for three days.
Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements with Russia and the US in October 2019 to end its military operation against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria.
