Government forces down Turkish drone in Syria’s Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian government forces downed on Friday a drone belonging to the Turkish forces over a village in the western countryside of Kobani, north Syria.

An exclusive source told North Press, “The Turkish drone was hovering over the village of al-Sheioukh. The government forces, stationed in the region, targeted it and downed it near the village of Zor Maghar.

On May 11, a Turkish drone targeted the center of Kobani and its southern outskirts.

Kobani and its surrounding villages witness successive bombardment by the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed Syrian opposition factions, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA).

It is worth mentioning that Kobani and other areas in north and northeast Syria have been subjected to two ceasefire agreements since 2019. Turkey signed one with Russian and the other with the US, stipulating a halt for all hostilities in the region.
