AANES warns of Turkey’s attempts to pass its policies through NATO

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called on Monday the international community to be aware of the Turkish policies aimed to strike the peoples of the region through NATO.

“The Turkish Justice and Development Government practices denial and chauvinistic racist policies towards the aspirations of the peoples of the region, especially the Kurdish people,” said the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in a statement.

“What has been documented by the international organizations of the atrocities committed by Turkey and the Turkish-backed jihadist and Salafist groups against the peoples of the region amount to war crimes,” it said.

The Executive Council stated that the Turkish President Erdogan’s recent statements rejecting Finland and Sweden to join NATO are further evidence of Turkey’s attempts to shape the world policies.

Turkey’s attempts to call the struggle of the peoples of the region and the Kurdish people as terrorism aim to create unsuitable environment to direct NATO according to policies that undermine the international efforts to combat the global terrorist system.

In its statement, the council warned that Turkey’s goal of passing its settlement policies is to change the demographics of the region and bring the world into more catastrophic wars, in reference to the plan to settle one million refugees in northern Syria.
