Unidentified gunmen kill former opposition leader in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen shot dead on Sunday two people, one of whom was a former Syrian opposition leader, in the western countryside of Daraa

“Qitefan Mahmoud Kiwan, a former leader in the opposition factions, was killed with another man called Amer Abdulqader Kiwan by unknown individuals in the city of Tafas, west of Daraa,” local sources told North Press.

The two men had reconciled with the government forces after in 2018 and joined no military factions, the sources added.

Over the past few days, Daraa has witnessed decline in the death of the military and the civilians after confessions of a person, who was arrested by members of the pro-Russian Eighth Brigade, were broadcast. The man spoke about his cooperation with the government forces officers to carry out killings in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
