Turkish Forces bomb Syria’s Manbij countryside

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces bombed on Saturday the village of al-Hassan in the northeastern countryside of Manbij, north Syria, with several mortar shells.

“Four mortar shells fell near my house and damaged from the outside,” Talal al-Hussein, a resident of the village of al-Hassan told North Press.

“We can no longer sleep in the house. We fear that the village was re-bombed and the shells will fall on our house next time,” he added.

Al-Hassan expressed his anger at the silence of the Russian forces regarding the continuous bombing. He called on Russia to intervene and put an end to the ongoing Turkish violations against the civilians.

He believes that the Turkish forces are bombing the area in order to push the villagers flee their villages.

Since May 12, the Turkish forces have targeted several villages in the countryside of Manbij and Kobani. This escalation is considered the first of its kind in months.
