SDF arrests ISIS sleeper cell in Syria’s Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Sunday the arrest of a sleeper cell of the Islamic State organization (ISIS) in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.

The SDF said its fighters managed to arrest a leader of ISIS with two other members in Raqqa with weapons and documents in possession.

The SDF did not publish any further details about the identity of those arrested.

On February 24, the SDF arrested an ISIS member of Iraqi nationality while he was trying to escape to Turkey.
