DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Two children died on Saturday in landmine explosion left by Syrian government forces in the northern countryside of Daraa, south Syria.
Muhammad al-Masri and Abdo al-Masri died due to the explosion of a landmine in the town of al-Faqee’, north of Daraa, a local source told North Press.
The two children found the landmine and started to play with until it exploded.
Since 2018, landmines caused the killing of dozens of Daraa residents, most of them were children.
The government forces refuse to send demining teams to clear the area from the mines they once planted, according to the residents.
The town where the two children found the landmine was once a military post of the government forces, the local source said.
