Turkish-backed armed faction kills civilian in north Syria’s Afrin

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Members of a Turkish-backed armed opposition faction shot to death last night a young man in Afrin region, northern Syria.

Members of the Levant Front (al-Jabha al-Shamiya) opened fire on Muhammad Tekri, an IDP from Hama, while he was grazing sheep in Sharran district in Afrin countryside, an exclusive source told North Press.

Afrin region in its countryside have been under the control of the Turkish military and the opposition Syrian armed factions since 2018.

Since then, the area has witnessed a state of insecurity and instability including infighting and explosions.

The source added that the faction’s members denied shooting Terki although the neighboring residents heard the firing from the area where the faction’s checkpoint lies in.
