Forces of government and opposition clash in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The government forces and the Turkish-backed opposition forces continued to bombard each other in the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria on Saturday.
The government forces bombed the opposition forces’ posts in several towns in the southern countryside of Idlib with heavy artillery, military sources in the opposition told North Press.
Similarly, the opposition factions’ posts in the town of Afes, east of Idlib, and the town of Ma’arat al-Naasan, north of Idlib, were hit with heavy artillery by the government forces, according to the same sources.
“Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra) and Jaysh al-Izza, and other opposition factions, targeted the Syrian government forces’ posts near the towns of Hazarin and al-Dar al-Kabira, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery and rockets, according to Military sources.
Areas in the de-escalation zone in the northwest of Syria continue to witness daily exchange of bombardment between the Turkish-backed opposition factions and the government forces.
