Heavy rain destroys houses in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – A number of houses in two villages in the countryside of the city of Kobani, north Syria, were destroyed by the water torrents on Saturday.
“At least two houses in the villages of Tashlouk Fawqani and Tahtani were destroyed in the torrent,” Zakaria Baqi, a member of the Kurdish Red Crescent Organization told North Press.
The torrent caused great material damage to the property of the civilians, including livestock and irrigation supplies, in addition to destroying some agricultural crops, Baqi added to North Press.
Baqi said that most of the residents of the two villages went to the city of Kobani to escape the heavy rain.
It is noteworthy that the residents of the countryside of Kobani posted on social media photos and videos about the size of the torrents formed due to heavy rain this evening.
