Unknown gunmen kill one SDF member, injure another in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Saturday a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and injured another one in a town, east Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
“Unidentified gunmen opened fire at two members of the SDF on the outskirts of the Attal roundabout, west of the town of al-Suhail,” a military source in the SDF said.
The attack resulted in the death of the member, Riyad al-Ahmad, and the injury of the other member, who was transported to al-Omar Hospital for treatment, the source added.
In the aftermath the attack, the SDF surrounded the town in pursuit of the attackers, according to the source.
Despite the intensive security operations launched by SDF, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed the increase in cases of killing of SDF members, Autonomous Administration employees, tribal dignitaries and civilians
Two days ago, ISIS claimed the responsibility for the killing of an SDF member in the town of Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
