DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued on Saturday a legislative decree, offering general amnesty for terrorist crimes committed by Syrians before April 30, 2022.
The Syrian Presidency issued decree No. 7 for 2022 in a post on its Facebook page.
The amnesty will not include those whose crimes led to the death of a human being, as specified in law No. 19 of 2012 on combating terrorism and the penal law issued by Legislative Decree No. 148 for 1949.
According to the decree, “this amnesty does not affect personal right lawsuits, and the plaintiff may in all cases file his lawsuit before the specialized civil court. This decree is effective from the date of its issuance.”
