DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen shot dead on Friday an individual in the northern countryside of Daraa, south Syria.
Youssef Ayed al-Yatim, a civilian who did not join any military formation before, was shot dead by unknown attackers, local sources told North Press.
“Al-Yatim was the brother of the head of the opposition Court of justice in Horan, Sheikh Osama al-Yatim, who was killed by unknown attackers near Daraa in 2015,” the sources added.
Since the eruption of protests in Daraa in 2011, al-Yatim and five of his brothers have been killed, according to the sources.
The governorate of Daraa has been witnessing chaos and instability since the Syrian government forces entered to the governorate in 2018 due to the increasing murders and thefts.
