Video shows Syrian government soldiers commit massacres in Damascus

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) New video published by The Guardian Wednesday shows Syrian government soldiers are conducting mass field executions in southern Damascus.

The video shows a soldier, who is wearing a fishing hat, asking a detainee to step forward and then shoots him in the suburb of Tadamon in Syria’s capital Damascus.

“It is the story of a war crime, captured in real time, by one of the Syrian regime’s most notorious enforcers, branch 227 of the country’s military intelligence service,” The Guardian said.

Footages from the video show a blindfolded man led by the elbow and told to run towards the giant hole that he did not know lay in front of him. Nor did he anticipate the thud of bullets into his flailing body as he tumbled on to a pile of dead men beneath him.

More unsuspecting detainees followed….until there were at least 41 men lay dead in the mass grave, according to The Guardian.

“The killers poured fuel on the remains and ignited them, laughing as they literally covered up a war crime just several miles from Syria’s seat of power. The video was date-stamped 16 April 2013,” The Guardian noted.

Martin Chulov, The Guardian correspondent, said “I’ve seen a lot of atrocities filmed on Camera.…. but this is one of the most  indictable videos from the whole Syrian conflict.”

He added, “This footage has given us a glimpse into a previously untold part of the 10 year war in Syria.”
