AANES Social Contract committee meets with Kobani University staff

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Fawzia Abdi, member of the Social Contract mini- committee of the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria,  said on Tuesday that the administrative officials and professors of Kobani University demanded that the university be separated administratively and financially from the Executive Council.

This came during the 6th meeting of Social Contract mini- committee to discuss the draft of the new social contract in the Euphrates region.

“Administrative officials and professors at Kobani University demanded the separation of university from Higher Education. They also discussed the education strategy plus selecting participants mechanism in the education councils,” Abdi told North Press.

According to Abdi, “the participants demanded that each university should have its own privacy according to the region in which it is located, so that it can issue its own decisions and organize its work according to the specificity of the region.”

The Social Contract mini-committee held its fifth meeting with members of the Autonomous Administration institutions in the Euphrates region in the hall of the Baqi Khado Center for Culture and Art in the city of Kobani.

It is worth noting that the aim of these meetings is to discuss the terms of the draft contract and to identify the proposals of the participants. Then these proposals are submitted to the expanded committee to add them to the terms of the draft social contract before ratification.
