IED explodes inside dumpster east of Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – An IED placed inside a dumpster exploded on Sunday in the city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria. No casualties were reported.

The IED exploded near al-Boshi mosque in the city center of al-Bab, causing only material losses, an exclusive source told North Press.

Since 2017, al-Bab has been run by the Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed factions, the most notable of which are al-Hamza faction, Sultan Murad and Ahrar al-Sham.

On March 12, residents of al-Bab found an IED placed in a sack near Hamza School with a flag of the Syrian government raised over it.

Turkish-backed factions have failed to maintain security in the areas they control, which have been in a state of chaos including frequent explosions, abductions, and rampant corruption as a result.
